Cake Batter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder Gives lift without making it spongy.
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt Enhances the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted Adds richness.
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon-Sugar Topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon For topping.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix the dry ingredients in the mug. Stir together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly distributed.
  2. Add the wet ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir well until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Make the cinnamon-sugar topping by mixing the cinnamon and 1 teaspoon sugar until evenly blended.
  4. Top the batter with the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly across the surface.
  5. Microwave on high for about 1 minute and 30 seconds until the cake is risen and looks set on top.
  6. Let it cool for about 1 minute before eating.

Notes

Use a mug with some headroom to prevent spillover. Let it rest for a minute after cooking for a softer crumb.
